Mickey Lee, a fan favorite from Big Brother Season 27, has died at the age of 35, her family announced Friday. Lee passed away on Dec. 25, just days after being hospitalized following a series of cardiac arrests linked to flu-related complications.
In a statement shared on her Instagram, Lee’s family remembered her as someone who left a powerful impression both on and off the screen.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,” the family wrote. “She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed.”
The family added that they are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support, saying Lee’s “light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten.”
Just days earlier, on Dec. 22, the family revealed that Lee was in critical but stable condition in intensive care after experiencing multiple cardiac arrests stemming from flu complications.
Lee competed on Big Brother earlier this year, finishing 10th overall after being evicted in week eight. During the season, she made a strong impression as Head of Household in week four, when she famously used an interrogation power to dethrone Rylie Jeffries. Known for her bold, straightforward style of play, Lee became a major personality in the house and a central figure in several alliances — though that same directness eventually made her a target.
Reflecting on her time on the show, Lee told The Enquirer in September, “I didn’t know I was fun to watch until everyone’s been telling me. I’m like, ‘Oh, OK. This is me being normal.’”
Following the news of her death, tributes poured in from fellow Big Brother alumni.
Season 27 castmate Zach Cornell wrote, “Thank you for being such an incredible friend and inspiration to me both in and out of the house… ATL Baddie for life.”
Season 13 winner Rachel Reilly added, “Sorry for your loss and my prayers for your family. RIP Mickey, you are missed.”
Amy Bingham, also from Season 27, shared, “I am devastated!!! I love you so much, Mickey! Praying for comfort and strength for everyone who was lucky enough to know you.”
Jimmy Heagerty, who became close with Lee during the season, wrote on X, “Gone way too soon… Rest in Power Mickey, I love you forever.”
Mickey Lee is remembered not only for her competitive spirit on Big Brother, but for the warmth, honesty, and energy she brought to everyone around her.
