Jumanji 3 FIRST LOOK: Dwayne Johnson & Nick Jonas Return as Epic 2026 Release Date Announced!

The jungle is roaring back to life — louder, wilder and funnier than ever. Sony Pictures has finally dropped the first look of Jumanji 3, and fans across the globe are already losing their minds. The brand-new image, shared on social media, shows the iconic core cast — Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan — back in their classic jungle avatars, complete with camo outfits, fierce poses and their trademark comedic expressions.

Jumanji 3 Release Date Confirmed

Sony has officially announced that Jumanji 3 will hit theatres on Christmas 2026, setting it up as one of next year’s biggest holiday blockbusters. The studio shared the first still with the caption:
“Look who’s on the loose 👀 #JumanjiMovie is coming exclusively to theatres Christmas 2026.”

Within minutes, fans flooded social media with excitement, thrilled that the beloved franchise is finally continuing after years of silence.

Nick Jonas Is Back!

In a major treat for fans, Nick Jonas returns as Seaplane McDonough — the charming pilot inside the game world. Also returning is Rhys Darby, once again playing the energetic NPC guide Nigel Billingsley, whose quirky humour has become a highlight of the series.

First Look After Years of Delay

The new image arrives just as filming finally begins. This sequel to Jumanji: The Next Level has been a long time coming — nearly six years since the last movie hit screens. The photo shows Johnson, Hart, Gillan and Black back in character as Smolder, Mouse, Ruby and Shelly, standing in the middle of a mysterious street setting.

Dwayne Johnson recently confirmed that shooting kicked off in November, telling Variety:
“The films that I made in the past, I love them. I’ll go back to making them again.”

Director, Writers & Production Updates

The film brings back the successful creative team:

  • Director: Jake Kasdan
  • Writers: Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg & Jake Kasdan

Producer Hiram Garcia revealed in 2021 that the team had been developing a “big vision” for Jumanji 3, explaining that work would begin after the release of Kasdan’s film Red One.

Kevin Hart previously hinted that this might be the final Jumanji film, telling Variety in 2023:
“We need something big to put our duo to an end, and not just leave it undone.”

Official Release Date

Jumanji 3 swings into cinemas on December 11, 2026.

Get ready — the game is opening once again, and this time, it promises even bigger adventures, crazier chaos and a star-studded ensemble that fans won’t want to miss!
