“Stranger Things” fans — get ready. The wait to return to the Upside Down is almost over.
Netflix has confirmed that the first four episodes of “Stranger Things” Season 5 — the show’s final season — will premiere Wednesday, Nov. 26. The remaining episodes will roll out in two holiday drops: Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
A Darker Final Chapter Begins
Season 5 jumps ahead to fall 1987, following the chaotic opening of the Rifts in Hawkins. Will, Mike, Lucas and the rest of the gang are now on a mission: find and kill Vecna, who has vanished since the events of Season 4.
But their quest gets complicated quickly. According to Netflix’s synopsis, the U.S. government has placed Hawkins under military quarantine and is stepping up its search for Eleven — forcing her into hiding once again.
As the anniversary of Will’s original disappearance approaches, so does a familiar sense of dread. The final battle looms, bringing with it a threat “more powerful and more deadly” than anything the group has ever faced. To end the nightmare, the entire party must stand together one last time.
