U.S. Senator Cory Booker, 56, has officially married Alexis Lewis, 38, after the couple exchanged vows in two separate wedding ceremonies held at locations deeply meaningful to both of them.

Two Ceremonies, Two Special Cities

The couple first tied the knot on Nov. 24 in Newark, New Jersey, a city central to Booker’s political journey. The intimate courthouse wedding at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey was attended only by the couple and their parents.

A second celebration followed on Nov. 29 in Washington, D.C., Lewis’ hometown, where close friends and family joined in the festivities.

Booker and Lewis shared the news through coordinated Instagram posts on Nov. 30, posting photos from both ceremonies with the caption:

“Overflowing with gratitude. We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us — Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown of Washington, D.C. Hearts full and so grateful.”

From Engagement to “I Do”

Booker announced his engagement to Lewis in September, describing her as “one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life.” He praised her impact on his personal growth and shared photos from their engagement trip, where Lewis proudly displayed her ring.

Just weeks later, Booker revealed on the I’ve Had It podcast that he wanted a quick wedding, saying he had “had it with being single” and looked forward to married life.

The senator also hinted that the couple plans to start a family in the near future.

A Love Story Years in the Making

Booker shared earlier this year that he and Lewis had been together for about a year and a half after being introduced through friends. Their relationship remained private until they announced their engagement publicly.

With two ceremonies complete and celebrations shared between the cities that shaped their lives, the newlyweds say they are excited for the next chapter together.
